Horton Plaza Theatres Foundation's Board consists of seven members - four appointed by the San Diego City Council and three our appointed by Stockdale Management.

 

 

 

 

Suzanne Varco

 

 

 

Suzanne Varco, President

 

Ms. Varco is the managing partner of Opper & Varco LLP, an environmental law firm based in San Diego. Suzanne has been practicing law for over 20 years and is the Vice Chair for Lambda Alpha International, San Diego Chapter, and was previously the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the St. John's Episcopal Parish Day School.

 

 

 

Pam Hamilton Lester, Vice President

 

Ms. Hamilton Lester served in executive positions for more than 45 years in the field of urban revitalization, including 24-years with Centre City Development Corporation, responsible for redevelopment of downtown San Diego; and as President/CEO of NTC Foundation, responsible for financing, rehabilitation, and development of a civic, arts and cultural campus within 26 historic buildings at Liberty Station.

 

 

 

Larry Marshall, Secretary

 

Mr. Marshall, happily retired, has served as San Diego Deputy City Attorney, General Counsel for Centre City Development Corporation (negotiated the original Horton Plaza lease and Lyceum Theatre management contracts), San Diego Data Processing Corporation, and San Diego Housing Commission, just to name a few. Larry holds a B.A. from UC Riverside and a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, UC Berkeley.

Gina M. Jackson

 

 

Gina M. Jackson, Director

 

Ms. Jackson is an Adjunct Professor at San Diego Community College District and an Educator at San Diego Unified School District. Gina is an Arts Commissioner for the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture. She is a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship recipient and the recipient of California State Assembly Teacher Appreciation Award. She is the Founder/Executive Artistic Director of Cultural Noire Performing Arts Company.

Jennifer Gattey

 

 

Jennifer Gattey, Treasurer

 

Ms. Gattey is General Manager of Horton Plaza with Stockdale Management. Jennifer has been in commercial real estate for 17 years and has spent a majority of that time managing Class A high rises in Downtown San Diego. She is also a board member of the Downtown Community Planning Council and has served as a board member of the Downtown Partnership’s Clean and Safe board. Jennifer holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Samantha Noodin


 

Samantha Noodin, Director

 

Samantha is currently the Assistant Property Manager for Stockdale Management at Horton Plaza. After graduating with her BA from UC Riverside she then found her home in San Diego as well as her love for real estate. She has experience in many types of commercial real estate but has always been drawn to Downtown San Diego. Samantha is an active BOMA member and currently serves as the Copy Editor for the BOMA Communications Committee and is working toward her Real Estate license.

Sandra L. Simmons

 

Ms. Simmons is the Executive Director of Horton Plaza Theatres Foundation. Sandra moved to Downtown San Diego in early 1992 and has participated extensively in its renaissance and urban rebirth. Sandra’s mission is to further San Diego as a vibrant arts and cultural magnet. Ms. Simmons is a graduate from Oregon State University.
